Steve Patterson , PGA Teaching Professional

Steve has been a PGA Member since 1993 and is a teaching professional at Fossil Trace Golf Club. In 2008, Steve achieved PGA Certified Professional status in the areas of Instruction and Golf Operations from the PGA of America. In the spring of 2009 Steve earned Level One Certification in Golf Fitness Instruction through the Titleist Performance Institute. This is a education course designed to teach instructors how to identify and overcome physical restrictions, prescribe exercise programs and to the most recent developments in golf swing analysis.
Steve has a strong passion for instructing players of all abilities and has many students that have prospered under his tutelage. His passion for junior golf was recognized as he was selected for the 2001 Illinois PGA Section Junior Golf Leader award. This award was given for the work he did at Winnetka Golf Club in developing one of the top junior programs in the Chicago area.
Through many years of experience he is adept at working with each student as an individual. He then prescribes methods that best fit each particular student. His philosophy of improving his student’s game begins with establishing mutual goals with each student regarding full swing improvement along with developing a strong commitment in short game improvement.
His mentors in the field of golf instruction are many, but most notable are David Leadbetter, Dr. Bob Rotella, Stan Utley and Jim Hardy. You may contact Steve at spatterson@cityofgolden.net.
